I don't have a whole lot of money to build a new system right now, so I thought I'd drop in a graphic card upgrade to get me through this year's games. Current specs: Asus A8R MVP socket 939 mobo Radeon Xpress 1600 chipset 2GB DDR400 Athlon X2 3800+ Radeon HD2600 PRO I was thinking about getting a Radeon 5670 1GB, which is right about in my price range ~$100. Any recommendations on brand or card? Do you think BC2 would run on this box with settings on lowest? |

I would think that it would run fine. You can crank it down all the way to run on DX 9 so I would assume if you could play BF2 that BC2 wouldn't add a whole lot of extra fps lag. But Nano would probably be the best bet to compare against because I think Nano has the oldest machine so far and was talking about fps issues before. |

I would recommend getting another 2GB of RAM if you can as well. DDR400 shouldn't be too expensive right now. |

I'm trying to avoid buying parts that wouldn't be usable in the next rig, so if I can avoid buying more RAM for this machine it would be preferable. Any card brands to avoid? I haven't bought hardware in a while |

If it just uses DDR400 RAM, I may have an extra gig of ram you can have on the cheap. Just pay the shipping. |
