Just wondering what the majority of us are gaming with. I have the original GTX 260 (only has 192 core processors, slightly lower GPU). I bought it less than a year ago for $220. They already replaced it with a slightly better card for about $190.

I hate how fast video cards become dated. Aren't manufacturers ever going to hit a ceiling? Video game producers are only going to match the quality consoles can play, so what's the point of making these high end cards?

With Modern Warfare 2 almost here I'm curious to how much more demanding the game is going to be and if I should be worried. I play COD4 on 1440x900 with high settings right now and have 250 fps most of the time. But with my new monitor I'm tempted to play at 1920x1080 and wonder what the effects will be.

and also...no dedicated servers for cod4. its going to be a match making system like left 4 dead, or any console fps you've played on the 360/ps3. Dunno if I'm going to pick it up now.

8800GT all the way.

I'm thinking CoD 6 will have a patch for dedicated servers once they get their head out of their ass.

Its been all over. It was announced my FourZeroTwo (the community manager for IW) during a bashandslash interview on Saturday. The petition has over 80k signatures to put it back in heh.

If you want to run intense applications or video games that require fast, rich graphics, then you'll need a high performance video card. I have Nvidia PALIT 8400GS 256MB DDR2 DVI VGA HDMI Out PCI-E Graphics Card. It is very good for me.

Reviving dead threads I see. The 8400gs is a p.o.s now a days.

What is a human spammer? It didn't seem like he had any purpose posting here.

I have a 4870x2 2GB, one of the rarest cards and they no longer make them. It is on average 10% faster than a 5870 1GB, but lacks Directx 11 support. For anything other than the few DX11 titles it is pretty much overkill. I run 1920x1200, everything high with 4xCSAA and 16X AF and generally average about 65 FPS in BC2, with minimum frame rates only dipping into the high 30s, and maximum frame rates well over 100+.
