I had high expectations before installing windows 7 that I would have equivalent or higher frame rates in most games, however I noticed that I get about 50-60 fps less in the games I've played. In the Source stress test I got around 246 fps with XP and now I get about 215 with 7, and in COD4 I would usually stay around 220-250 frames in XP and now I'm getting 160-240 fps depending on the map. Maybe it's a driver compatibility issue and hopefully it is because my gaming experience with 7 has been less than stellar. Other than that I really like it. Anyone else have similar issues?

I haven't experienced anything like that. It's something in your setup for sure.

It's probably in your game configs. I know that I tweak and play with my settings until I get them exactly where I want them. It's a pain trying to redo them after a reinstall or new OS.
Plus didn't you switch to a dual monitor config/different monitor? If your game resolution changed that will affect your performance, or if your card is drawing a desktop on your second monitor you will take a hit too.

I understand that Dagger, but I am comparing frame rates from my exact current setup. I have not changed anything except for the OS. So all the before numbers are from a dual monitor and new resolution as well. I did download this program that allows you to have different desktop images on each monitor, so I could try turning that off to see if it makes a difference. You buys know how to get two different backgrounds in 7 btw?

Well I've found other people having the problem with no know cause. What games have you guys played before and after windows 7 that you can compare? Have you played COD4, because maybe it's an issue with the game. I just can't imagine what the problem can be other than it needs a driver update.
